Kindle Unlimited Free Trial Wrap Up

Remember back in October of last year, I activated a three month free trial for Kindle Unlimited because I wanted to see if it would be worth spending £9.49 a month to have access a sea of titles (mainly from indie authors). No? Here is the link to that article for your reading pleasure. Come back once you’ve read it.

You’re back? Right. Now those three free months are up, decision time. What titles did I read? Are there any that I put on my list that I haven’t read and am going to buy/continue my Kindle Unlimited for a month or so to read and, is it worth it?

As you remember, these were some of the titles I had on my Kindle Unlimited radar:

So, how many of these titles did I read during the three months free trial? In the above pic, I read 2 and DNF another at 18%.

So, the titles I read during the trial (in order of when read): A is for Alibi by Sue Grafton, Good Pucking Luck by Riley Hart, Death in Ambush by Susan Gilruth and Boyfriend Without Benfits by Riley Hart.

I think I would have read more (yes, I am a slow reader, I know), but A is for Alibi and Death In Ambush took me longer than I expected to read. I love crime/mystery books and can usually fly through them, but A is for Alibi was denser than I expected and while I enjoyed Death in Ambush, the writing style did take some time for me get my footing in).

And the other two titles - Good Pucking Luck and Boyfriend Without Benefits - are books 1 and 3 in the same series so I whizzed through them. And yes, because I read books 1 and 3, I need to backtrack and read book 2 in the series - The Marriage Policy

Which means, yes, I will be continuing with the Kindle Unlimited as I haven’t read the titles I wanted to read. But I am giving myself a time limit of between 2/3 months. I will not be keeping this full time, but there are titles I want to read: same titles you see up in the above pic, others I discovered over the Xmas period and went “Oh!” over.

Wanna see and hold me accountable for reading them before, say, Easter Sunday? OK, let me throw some titles together in a nice pic and show below. Hang on a moment…

Ok, if you’re smart fans have read a previous post back, you would know that I have already read The Magician’s Nephew by CS Lewis and I have thoughts. But the others… yeah, am going to dive into them soon… this is going be interestingly weird reading the next few months (as well as my purchased reads and audiobooks from Audible and my local library…). Can’t wait!
