Goodbye

After 16 years, I have decided to bring my book blogging era to a close.

Yes, I know I said I was going to wait till the end of the year - that was the original plan and I was pretty happy with this idea when I decided this, but over the past few days, it just felt like the right time.

The last 16 years has been a joy with all the books I have been lucky to read, the people I have met through this (either online via Golden Age such as Twitter as well as in real life, whether they were book bloggers, publishers, authors, PR, etc), the experience I have (such as winning the Blogger's Blogger Award at the UKYA Book Blogger's Award 2025, speaking at YALC about blogging that year and trying/failing to host a YA Book Club one summer at South Bank Centre as part of their Summer of Love 2016).

And in these past 16 years, I have changed. Both as a reader and as a person. When I started this, I reader a ton of YA fantasy and now, I'm more happy to read fantasy, crime, MM romances and take some left-turn risks on my reading. And YA - I will never turn my back on YA fantasy and crime.

I'm still going to be lurking in the nooks of Instagram, Goodreads and Storygraph so you're not going to get rid of my completely. Plus, I still have my (affiliate) Bookshop.org, which I will try and update more often.

But it's time and I feel pretty happy over this decision.

So, to all of you - to the book bloggers that cheered me on at the start, friends along the way, publishers who thought I might that like to read this title or that title, authors who were kind while I get starstruck, the PR people that go "You fancy being involved in this?", to booksellers and librarians (you know why - my credit card and library audiobook app can both sigh in relief), to my family who would pretend to know what I was talking about and to the Other Half for just being there - thank you. I love you all and thank you.

Stay safe, stay cool and happy reading.
