But now, before I hand you my mood board, here is the synopsis of Dark Triumph and explain why I picked some of my choices...
When Sybella arrived at the doorstep of St Mortain half mad with grief and despair, the convent was only too happy to offer her refuge - but at a price. The sisters of this convent serve Death, and with Sybella naturally skilled in both the arts of death and seduction, she could become one of their most dangerous weapons yet.
But her assassin's skills are little comfort when the convent returns her to the life that nearly drove her mad. Her father’s rage and brutality is terrifying, and her brother’s love is equally monstrous. But when Sybella discovers an unexpected ally she discovers that a daughter of Death may find something other than vengeance to live for . . .
Out of all the four mood boards I had to create, Dark Triumph was weirdly one of the easiest to create. I had a clear idea of what I wanted - I wanted to show colour (the covers show yellow and twists of blue) and I wanted to show a strong young woman but someone who is quite damaged or who sees herself as quite damaged. I have a things with arty pics of hands, but I just loved this pic and wanted to put it in. As for the bottom middle picture... I wanted something moody and yet, something Beast-like. But Sybella was my driving force for this mood board...
The next mood board with be on Thursday and will focus on Mortal Heart. And I'm a little unsure on it as it's very green. I will explain on Thursday... but see your mortal hearts on Thursday!
